Orientation & Mobility Training
Orientation and Mobility training enables those who are blind or visually impaired (BVI) to travel safely and efficiently in a variety of environments (such as home environments, grocery stores, or workplaces). This training is intended to assist BVI in meeting their individual lifestyle needs. The Certified Orientation and Mobility instructor and the student work together to develop and achieve travel goals. Our services range from basic O&M for satisfying minimal travel needs to advanced O&M to satisfy goals geared towards total travel independence.
Independent Living Skills Training
Independent Living Skills Training (ILST) enables individuals to live independently and confidently at home, enhancing their overall quality of life. Trainers in ILST are essential in helping those who are blind or have low vision overcome challenges and reach personal goals. Training may cover identifying clothing and medications, personal hygiene, home management tasks like cleaning and laundry, meal preparation with adaptive tools, using home appliances, labeling and organization, accessing community resources, and participating in monthly workshops.
Serving Our Seniors (SOS)

Independence Training Programs
Senior Keys to Independence (SKIP) (55+) and Training Independent Living (TIP) programs empower individuals who are blind or visually impaired to build the skills and confidence needed to thrive while living independently. Through immersive, hands-on training in daily living, mobility, technology, and personal care, participants gain practical tools for navigating life and living independently with vision loss. In addition to personalized instruction, participants are provided with transportation, lodging, meals, and an adaptive aid toolkit to take home. Most importantly, they become part of a supportive community of peers who are facing similar challenges—finding connection, encouragement, and a renewed sense of purpose together.
