From Contact Center to Purchasing: How Esmeralda Turned Change Into Opportunity

Adaptability isn't just a skill. It's a superpower. And Esmeralda Paugh has it in abundance.
At Envision, Esmeralda has transformed challenges into stepping stones, proving that with the right mindset and support, growth is always within reach. Her guiding philosophy? "Focus on what I can control." It's a principle she lives by every day and one she generously shares with her teammates.
Esmeralda's journey started in a demanding, fast-paced environment where flexibility wasn't optional. It was essential. Rather than shy away from the pressure, she leaned in. She became known not just for her work ethic, but for her heart. “You have to immediately forget what you knew... and learn new material each time.”
Over time, Esmeralda grew into a team lead role. She became known not just for her performance, but for how she showed up for others. She found small ways to keep morale high, whether that meant covering a teammate’s lunch during a late shift, bringing in snacks, or simply checking in. “Sometimes it’s just asking if you’re OK,” she says.
When she returned after the pandemic, now balancing her career with raising three children, she didn't just adapt. She thrived. "If you want to grow, make it known," she shares. This mindset has guided her path from customer service representative in the contact center to her current role as a purchasing assistant. Each transition required courage and a willingness to embrace discomfort. "Change is uncomfortable," she explains. "That's how you know you're probably headed in the right direction."
Esmeralda credits Envision's leadership for helping her see setbacks as part of a bigger plan. "Everything happens for a reason. You may not know now, but over time you'll know why."
Her story is an invitation to believe in your own ability to adapt, grow, and take the next bold step toward greater independence and possibility.
