Walking Together for Independence

For people who are blind or have low vision, a white cane can be much more than a mobility tool. It can support independence, confidence and the freedom to navigate everyday life. 

Each October, Envision recognizes White Cane Day by bringing our communities together to celebrate the independence the white cane represents and build greater understanding of its role in everyday mobility. 

This year, Envision will host White Cane Day Walks in both Wichita and Dallas, giving community members an opportunity to come together, show their support and take part in the mission. 

In Wichita, join us Saturday, October 3, at the Great Plains Nature Center for a community walk beginning at 9 a.m. 

In Dallas, the second annual White Cane Day Walk will take place Saturday, October 17, from 5–8 p.m. at the Dallas Zoo. Participants can register individually, start a team or fundraise in support of Envision’s work across North Texas. 

However you participate, we invite you to walk with us for independence and support greater opportunity for people who are blind or have low vision in our communities.
