Independence Boulevard includes a functional model apartment, grocery store, restaurant, and multiple walkways with various surfaces. Through these simulated living areas equipped with innovation smart-home technology, individuals with vision loss are provided a safe environment to hone and practice independent living skills such as white cane training, assistive technology training and more. The guidance and expertise offered by our occupational therapists, assistive technology trainers and orientation and mobility specialist ensures that individuals can navigate these areas with confidence and proficiency so they can maintain their independence
