Envision Arts entered 2026 with a significant milestone: the full transition into a new, unified space in Wichita’s Delano District—bringing learning, creation, and exhibition together in one accessible environment designed to better serve artists who are blind or visually impaired. As of January 1, the program is now fully operating out of its new location at 535 W. Douglas Ave., Ste. 160, marking the first time studio classrooms and gallery space are housed under one roof.

The unified home creates a more cohesive experience for artists, students, and visitors alike. Classes and exhibitions now happen side by side, strengthening the connection between learning and showcasing work.

The new space also creates room to expand programming in ways to better meet participants where they are. Plans for 2026 include evening classes, weekend workshops, music programming and dance classes— creating new entry points and opportunities for engagement.

“Accessibility is key for our students, from paratransit access and walkability to how the space is laid out,” said Sarah Kephart, Director of the Envision Arts program. “The new location removes barriers and makes it easier for artists to fully participate."

That focus reflects Envision’s broader commitment to removing barriers and expanding opportunity through creative expression. The move supports Envision Arts’ ability to serve more than 100 blind and visually impaired students each year, with room to grow as programming continues to expand.

Located in a historic Delano building, the new Arts space positions Envision within a vibrant, community-focused district. Studio classes will begin in early February, with momentum building toward a public grand opening and new exhibitions later this spring. The move strengthens continuity, expands opportunity, and reinforces Envision Arts’ presence as the program looks ahead.
