The Envision Dallas community came together to celebrate a milestone moment — the grand opening of the Cathy G. Hudson Envision Child Development Center (ECDC).  This state-of-the-art center is made possible through the generosity of donors like Bill and Cathy G. Hudson, the center reflects a long-standing commitment to creating opportunities for children who are blind or visually impaired and will have a lasting impact.

“Supporting this center is about more than a building, it’s about giving North Texas families access to services they’ve needed for far too long,” said Cathy G. Hudson. “Expanding Envision’s early childhood programs into Dallas means children who are blind or visually impaired will now have the same opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive close to home.”

ECDC in Dallas expands access to inclusive early education, giving children a place to learn, grow and thrive together. Designed to foster development and independence from the earliest years, the center provides specialized care and adaptive learning environments that meet the needs of children who are blind or visually impaired while welcoming their sighted peers.

The grand opening event brought together Envision leaders, staff, community partners and families who celebrated the center’s vision for education and inclusion. The excitement was unmistakable as guests toured the bright, welcoming classrooms and experienced firsthand what the ECDC will bring to the Dallas community.

For parents like Jenny Gang, whose child is enrolled to attend ECDC Dallas in September, the center represents more than a new educational option — it’s peace of mind.

“Finding a safe and inclusive place where my child who is blind can learn alongside other children means everything to our family,” said Gang. “On top of that, the flexible hours make it possible for me to continue working while knowing my child is cared for.”

The Envision Child Development Center in Dallas builds on Envision’s long-standing commitment to education, ensuring that more children can access high-quality early learning in an environment built for every ability. The center’s opening marks an important step in expanding Envision’s impact and strengthening the foundation for lifelong learning and inclusion in the region.

Thanks to the Hudsons’ generosity and Envision’s dedication, more children will have the chance to grow, learn and thrive in an environment built for every ability.
