DALLAS, Texas (Feb. 9, 2022) — Envision Dallas, one of the nation’s largest service providers and employers of people who are blind or visually impaired, is growing its operations with the acquisition of a new campus in Farmers Branch. The expansion will bring employment and opportunity to the blind and visually impaired community.

Formerly the Dallas Lighthouse for the Blind, Envision Dallas currently operates an accessible manufacturing operation that employs individuals who are blind or visually impaired, a contact center, a vision rehabilitation center, assistive technology lab, as well as the American Foundation for the Blind’s Esther’s Place model apartment for occupational therapy.

Envision Dallas’s new 210,000 square foot facility will strengthen its operations in Texas to better serve the more than 150,000 North Texans who are blind or visually impaired. The project will include a complete renovation and remodel of the building to create fully accessible workspaces and a progressive manufacturing facility among other services resulting in up to 200 new jobs over the next two years.

“We are inspired by the initial reaction from the Dallas community and excited about the opportunity for continued growth,” stated David Stupay, Managing Director, Envision Dallas. “The Farmers Branch expansion is part of Envision Dallas’s ongoing effort to advance and grow North Texas’s services for the blind or visually impaired community that provide patients invaluable resources and jobs critical to independent living while offering inspiration and hope.”

The new campus will allow for future growth opportunities and will house Envision Dallas’s manufacturing and distribution center, along with a comprehensive rehabilitation center, and program and services space all under one roof. An Envision Dallas Workforce Innovation Center will help train people who are blind or visually impaired to provide them with upward mobility opportunities for positions in customer service, programming, sales and management. Employment opportunities through the 100-seat call center and manufacturing facility will be available for those who are blind, low vision or sighted.

Envision Dallas will move its expanded operations to the new campus located at 1801 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch TX 75234 once complete in 2023.
