Envision Dallas Names Amy Britton Vice President Of Development

DALLAS – Envision, one of the nation’s largest employers of people who are blind or visually impaired, announced today that it has named Amy Britton vice president of development for Envision Dallas. In her new role, she will develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising plan for Envision Dallas, consisting of individual giving and corporate giving, major gifts, special events and grant development. Envision Dallas serves 150,000 individuals who are blind or low vision living in 11 North Texas counties: Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Fannin, Grayson, Hunt, Kaufman, Navarro, and Rockwall.

Britton has a master’s in higher, adult, and lifelong learning from Michigan State University, East Lansing, Mich., and is a certified fundraising executive (CFRE). The Dallas native joins Envision from Michigan State University, where she served as director of development for Texas and the Great Plains Region for eight years. Having more than 16 years of experience working in nonprofits, Britton previously held development positions with Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Greater Dallas, Girls Incorporated of Metropolitan Dallas and Camp Summit, Inc., a residential camp in Dallas for children and adults with disabilities.

Envision, which has locations in 11 states, added Envision Dallas to its family in 2018. In recent months, the organization has taken strategic steps towards expanding and enhancing its North Texas operation. This past October, it announced that Envision Dallas would become the home of the American Foundation for the Blind Center on Vision Loss and Esther’s Place, a model apartment designed to help individuals who are blind or visually impaired gain higher levels of independence in a home setting. Renovations to the Envision Dallas headquarters to accommodate these programs are currently under way.
