As Miss Kansas, Courtney Wages’ service initiative is “One Vision is Not the Only Vision,” and she is dedicated to bringing more awareness and opportunities for people with vision loss. Her colleagues at Envision are proud supporters of all that she has done as Miss Kansas. Envision employees, friends and family gathered together to cheer on Courtney, who is also the Community Outreach Manager at Envision, as she competed for Miss America during the Miss America finals competition.

“She’s really the connective tissue between our community and the services we have here at Envision,” said Luis Rodriguez, Senior Vice President of Foundation and Mission Services at Envision. “She’s been advocating for programs for people who are blind or visually impaired from babies to seniors, and we are thrilled and so proud of her for highlighting this important mission on a national platform.”

Envision and its members were also joined by KWCH Channel 12 news, KSN Channel 3 and River City Visuals video crew who helped amp up the celebration. Employees engaged in a “catwalk” activity where they gave their best runway walk and wave to the crowd, and the entire group got together to be filmed saying good luck to Courtney. Many employees and program participants gave their heartfelt good wishes to Courtney, as she has been a volunteer for many of them through her years as Community Outreach Manager. While she didn’t win the title of Miss America, she did place in the top 11.

“You know, I don’t even know why there is a top 11,” said Rodriquez. “You get a hard look at Courtney, she’s number one.”
