Connect Engage Act

Middle School and High School Students

Gaining independence as you transition into adulthood is important. And we couldn’t agree more. For students who are blind and visually impaired (B/VI), Envision offers an energetic and valuable program where students CONNECT with instructors and peers to learn to use Assistive Technology (AT), ENGAGE in fun and inspirational activities with friends from all across the US, and ACT to help bridge the digital divide as they advance their education and prepare for transition to higher education and/or employment.

Are you ready to Level Up?

The Level Up Program consists of two separate week-long training programs for students across the nation, who are blind or visually impaired. The Middle School program, held at Butler Community College, works to develop soft skills and advocacy in addition to technology to promote academic success. The High School Conference, located on the Wichita State University Campus, is designed to prepare students to successfully transition to college or career.

Benefits of attending

Level Up offers sessions and workshops to help students:

  • Increase technological literacy
  • Advance communication skills
  • Build on impactful life skills, study skills, and soft skills
  • Develop leadership skills
  • Stretch the mind during our STEM, Arts, and Physical Education courses
  • Explore opportunities for the future at our college and career expo.
  • Better understand business etiquette, interview skills, and how to effectively job search

By bringing students with vision loss together, Level Up allows teens to CONNECT, ENGAGE and ACT on what they learn—setting the stage for success.

How to attend

Each student must be recommended by a teacher of the visually impaired (TVI). After the recommendation is approved, you will receive the full Program Application to fill out and return. Interested? Talk to your teacher and review the documents below for more information.

For Exhibitors

As part of the High School Level Up Conference, a College and Career Expo will be held on June 29. As an exhibitor at the Level Up Career and College Expo, you have the unique opportunity for your college, university or organization to interact with Level Up participants who are preparing for college and career. Not only will they learn about opportunities available for them after high school, but also learn more about specific programs that are available to them to learn and grow.

If you’re in the business of developing a diverse workforce, have internship opportunities or collegiate programs available for students who are blind or visually impaired, we’re looking for you.

With the addition of new partners, there’s no limit to what the Level Up Program can accomplish.
