Envision provides personalized solutions for people who are blind or have low vision

In March of 2019, Caleb, his older sister Morgan, their mother Kim and a foreign exchange student living with the family, were in a tragic car accident leaving 13-year-old Caleb fighting for his life. Caleb spent more than five months in three different hospitals and another three months of full-day intensive outpatient rehab hospital care. Due to traumatic brain injury, Caleb has a multitude of challenges he will continue to work through for the rest of his life, including hearing loss in his left ear and no vision in either eye.

Gabrielle, affectionately known as Gabby to her friends and family, has exemplified tenacity and strength in her life challenges and endeavors. She has been described by her loved ones as nothing less than an outgoing firecracker. Raised in Michigan, Gabby excelled in academics and participated in sports, peer mentoring groups for teens and youth, and she was a writer for her high school newspaper. Gabby had plans for her future. 

Tomiyo grew up on Okino-Erabu-Shima, a small island located north of the Island of Okinawa. As a very young child she grew up watching the native flowers of Japan delicately bloom, while at the same time watching them dance with great strength in the typhoon forced winds. Tomiyo moved to the United States in 1995 and soon thereafter started losing her vision. Tomiyo was no longer able to recognize or differentiate colors in her visual field as Retinitis Pigmentosa set in, shrinking her peripheral vision with time, leaving her with only a pinhole of vision remaining.
