    Envision Dallas Volunteer Opportunities

    7:30 AM - 1:30 PM
    4306 Capitol Ave, Dallas, TX
Are you looking for volunteer credits? Passionate about helping others? Looking for clinical observation hours?  Envision Dallas is excited to announce that we are moving to a new facility! The space is much larger and will allow us to consolidate operations in to one building. While we are looking forward to the move, we understand that it is a big undertaking.

We are seeking support to assist in the transition of our blind and visually impaired employees. We will be orienting employees to the new location, in 3 phases, from April 29th through May 24th. Each phase has a weeklong training plan that will be led by Buffy Pillers, COMS. Day 1 will guide low vision to total blind employees to orient to the new space. Day 2 will be low vision to sighted employees, with Day 3-5 practice for all; scheduling of more intense training when needed. Volunteers will be assisting the Certified Orientation & Mobility Specialist (COMS) to carry out the training plan and assisting staff in practicing pathways and guiding them to their workstation, restrooms, breakrooms, etc. You can sign up for a single day and time, or multiple.

Volunteers will need to watch the training video ahead of time, and show up to their scheduled slot ready to help. To see all days and time slots available, please visit this link. Email dallasrehab@envisionus.com once you sign up to recieve access to the training video!

Mental Health Awareness at Envision Arts Gallery

    5:00 PM - 9:00 PM
801 E. Douglas Ave, Suite 106, Wichita KS
Mental Health Awareness Month has been observed in the U.S. since 1949 and every year during the month of May, the Envision Arts Gallery will be committed to joining this national movement to raise awareness about mental health. Art is a powerful tool for self-care and mental health. Studies have shown that expression through art can help people with depression, anxiety, and stress. Art has also been linked to improved memory, reasoning, and resilience in aging adults. Together, we will aim to fight stigmas, provide support, educate the public and advocate for policies that support the millions of people in the U.S. affected by mental illness.

    First Friday, May 3
    5:00 - 9:00 PM
Free and open to the public
On display May 3 - 31 in the Patricia A. Peer Window Gallery.
