Level Up Convention for High School Students

7:00 AM - 6:00 PM @ Wichita State University

Free for high school students who are blind or visually impaired.

The Level Up High School Conference sponsored by Envision is the place to be for students with visual impairments who want to advance and succeed in all areas of their lives. With a mission to prepare high school students for whatever comes their way, Level Up is also a destination for parents who are looking for resources to strengthen their roles as advocates and confidants.

The Level Up High School Conference offers sessions that increase technological literacy and interpersonal and career development as well as provides opportunities to connect with mentors in professional fields. Each participant leaves with individualized technology and one-on-one training that will put them on the path to excel academically, socially and emotionally – for life.

According to the Kansas Teachers of the Visually Impaired, students need access to computers at school and home to complete assignments, master skills and ensure they are not left behind.

The national unemployment rate for individuals who are blind or low vision is 70 percent. Assistive technology, career mentoring and heightened interpersonal skills combat unemployment and underemployment for youth, leading to independence and building a new level of leaders for tomorrow – regardless of visual impairment.

Attend Level Up to CONNECT, ENGAGE and ACT and leave with lifelong independence.
