Curtis Jackson enrolled in the Administrative Technology Program at Wichita Area Technical College (WATC) last year with specific goals in mind. “When my job duties as an assistive technology specialist at Envision started to expand, I wanted to make sure I was doing the best I could in the areas of communication and writing as well as gain a better understanding of Human Resources.”
Three semesters later, a 4.0 GPA coupled with a commitment to his own professional development and positive contributions made through his work at Envision earned him the WATC Make A Difference Student Award.
“I was nominated by two of my instructors,” Curtis said. “I didn’t even know the award existed until I won it.”
Curtis accepted the award, which recognizes outstanding students who diligently help their fellow students and/or the WATC and Wichita-area communities, during the December 19 WATC board meeting.
