Envision provides personalized solutions for people who are blind or have low vision

Lori is an Envision employee of 25 years. Visually impaired since age 2, Lori has always found job searching to be difficult. Since starting at Envision, she says she has felt nothing but acceptance. She has also benefited from rehabilitation opportunities through Envision's Vision Rehabilitation Center and has been able to receive tools and training to help her maximize her remaining vision.

Therese and Stella both have Stargardt Disease, a juvenile form of Macular Degeneration. Therese received help from Envision's Rehabilitation Center where she learned skills and was given low vision tools to help her maintain more independence and confidence. Therese participates in Envision programs such as Level Up, and through this she improved her reading by two grade levels. She plans to pay it forward as a mentor someday when her little sister Stella will attend. 

Hashim Syed's journey with Envision began at the age of ten, a pivotal chapter initiated by the challenging diagnosis of Retinal Detachment at just nine years old. Shortly after he was diagnosed, Hashim’s family began to receive letters from Envision, introducing him to programs tailored for blind and visually impaired youth. Hashim attended his first Envision program in sixth grade and attended all the way through high school. Now a sophomore at Wichita State University, majoring in communications with a minor in sociology, Hashim has come full circle. He's a mentor for the Envision Level Up program, guiding students in assistive technologies, social and leadership skills, and fostering their confidence and independence.
