About Envision
Our History
For more than 70 years, Envision has combined business with human services, creating employment opportunities
and offering vision rehabilitation services to individuals who are blind, low vision or developmentally
disabled. Founded in 1931 as the Wichita Workshop and Training School for the Adult Blind, the agency has
helped countless individuals live independently.
Employment
Envision is the largest employer of individuals who are blind or low vision in a six-state region. Some
of the more than 90 products made at Envision by individuals who are blind or low vision are used across
the globe. We also operate retail stores on 15 military bases.
Vision Rehabilitation
More than one in six American seniors reports some form of vision loss, but few take advantage of vision
rehabilitation services. These include counseling, training in use of optical devices, rehabilitation
teaching and orientation & mobility training. With vision rehabilitation, you can live a richer, safer,
more independent life.
Public Education
Each year, Envision produces radio, television and newspaper advertising campaigns centered on healthy
vision. These spots point out early warning signs of eye disease and promote ways to preserve sight. Envision
also produces educational seminars for consumers and medical professionals, addressing vision loss and stroke,
diabetic eye disease, glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration.
