Envision Inc. announced today that it has become an active member of the American Pet Products Association (APPA), the leading not-for-profit trade association established to promote, develop and advance pet ownership and the pet product industry. The announcement coincides with the introduction by the Wichita-based organization, a not-forprofit dedicated to improving the quality of life and inspiring those who are blind and visually impaired, of PetNV™, a new line of reflective pet collar and leashes that leverages the organization’s years of experience producing reflective belts, vests and other apparel for the U.S military.
Envision Industries is best known as a manufacturer of plastic bags and liners, producing some two million items daily across a range of some 500 SKUs and marketing them under the Envision and Stout proprietary brands and as private-label merchandise. These products include an environmentally friendly line of degradable and compostable bags as well as standard liners and bags of every shape, color and size. In addition, the operation has developed a steady business producing protective wear, high-capacity liquid dispensers and other products, and regularly accepts work as a third-party production facility, finishing and packaging products
across a variety of categories. Recently, the organization was retained to finish and package a biodegradable tablecloth for the Susty Party line of environmentally friendly party supplies, and partnered with a separate company, Global Consumer Innovations, to jointly produce and market a sandless sandbag for disaster prevention, the Aquapad.
The PetNV line includes reflective pet collars and leashes developed to protect pets and their owners, even in low-visibility conditions. Drawing on innovative technology that pairs the highest-quality reflective material available with high-strength webbing, each product is designed to reflect light up to 1,500 times brighter than white fabric. Made of durable vinyl infused with prismatic technology, the waterproof products are made of heavy-duty construction to withstand high force while allowing for a quick release in an emergency. They are currently available in five vibrant colors and two collar sizes.
Branching into the pet product arena is the latest in a steady stream of efforts Envision has made recently to diversify its manufacturing operations. Earlier this month, the organization also announced it had joined the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) and was targeting the nation’s transit systems as customers for its trash bags and liners.
As we identify additional channels through which we can move our products, we will look to take an active role in leading organizations like APPA that can help us gain a stronger presence among core customer segments, said Michael Monteferrante, President and CEO of Envision.
